Try to be ready for the event. Find all your gear and have it clean and ready.

Arrive early. Help set up camp. Reduce the strain on the folks who haul the camp around.

Help get the kitchen ready. Chop wood. Get the fire going.

Help a recruit out. If you are a recruit help someone newer than you. If you are the newest, learn.

Help gather the cartridges after the unit fires. Keep the empties away from the kids.

Check back in on the kitchen, bet they need help again.

Help keep the camp neat. If someone's gear is spilling out of the tent put it away for them. Adjust an officer's gorget.

Learn when you should be learning. Practice drill. Learn a craft. Help out in the kitchen again.

Stay late on Sunday. Help put the camp up. If the same people are stuck with this all the time they will quit. Trust me on this one. They want to get home the same as you, if you help out they get home a little sooner and you feel good.

Keep a good attitude. A bad day reenacting beats a good day at work. If you are upbeat you may fool me into being upbeat too.
